A conference organized by the project A03 "The Transfer of Medical Episteme in the ‘Encyclopaedic’ Compilations of Late Antiquity" (Head: Prof. Dr. Philip van der Eijk) in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Jens Schröter, Theological Faculty of Humboldt-University Berlin and Clarissa Paul, Theological Faculty of Humboldt-University Berlin and Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg

This conference focuses on representations of the doctor-patient-relationship in medical and religious texts from Graeco-Roman culture, early Christianity and ancient Judaism. Particular attention will be given to the various factors (professional, historical and religious) influencing the literary representation of the encounter between healers and patients.
