Dr. Aaron Amit is chair of the Talmud Department at Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan Israel. He is the author of a volume of critical commentary on the Talmud and numerous scholarly articles dealing with the influence of contemporary Greco-Roman culture and language on rabbinic literature, the textual transmission of the Talmud Bavli and the history of halakhah.
